Red-cyan anaglyph action in BW by knifeofdreams Red-cyan anaglyph action in BW by knifeofdreams
This is a very simple PS action file I created for those who are interested in stereoscopy to make their first steps easier. With the help of this action you don't need to repeat the sequence of steps over and over again, you just add this file to your PS actions and lean back :relax:

You'll get the final image in black and white.

:bulletpink: PLEASE NOTE ONE THING! :bulletpink:

As for the order of the images: set the image for the right eye as background and the image for the left eye as layer 1.

If you're using this action, I'd be pleased if you threw a link in your description for your image to this file, so that others can use it too :D

Enjoy! :D

I am having problems with the actions...
When I hit the action button I get errors that say
"The object 'Layer Hatter' is not currently available"
then
"The object 'Layer reteg1' is not currently available"
then
"The object 'Layer reteg 0' is not currently available"
and again:
"The object 'Layer reteg1' is not currently available"
then again:
"The object 'Layer reteg 0' is not currently available"

and then the final image shows the pic I wanted in anaglyph on a gray gradient background (Layer 1) and black solid on a layer underneath (Layer 0)

Feel free to download and try it, and please give me a feedback if you find any mistakes, because someone reported that I mixed the cyan-red eyes, but no one else told me about it, so I'm curious if it works for you! I hope it does

Your preview image depth-perception is reversed and confusing. Just though I'd let you know. ;)

Seems to work perfectly fine with my 3D glasses. Is it possible that the glasses you used have blue on the right side lens and red on the left? That would reverse it I believe.

My one question is this... when using the action fo you need to take two pictures of basically the same thing? Just a certain distance apart? What would the distance be? I just want to know how to create the 3D effect the best.

Just stand very stiff and still.... take a photo with the camera to your left eye, and then again with the camera to your right.
If you have a tripod with a sliding feature, that can work too, though that is rare.

When I did this I wasn't well practiced, so I had the camera to me right eye but shifted my weight from my left leg to my right. That can work too, but I found that the difference is too great and has a weird distortion effect.

Do you have to name the layers anything special for the action to work? I notice when I tried to get it to work that it said such and such a layer wasn't available.

So I just wanted to make double sure that I have everything in order. Thank you though with the tip on doing the left eye and right eye taking pics.

Not for the one I did, it's all in the settings. That said, you seem to have made this anaglyph fine, the only confusing this was that I had to wear my glasses inside-out (they're card ones, from a movie showing) - I think you made them using an atypical design... :plotting:
